Hello and welcome to Sycamore Class!
I am the class teacher, Mrs Vaughn, and our Learning Support Assistant is Ms Bullard.
In Year 4 this year, we are looking forward to exploring a wide variety of subjects. In the mornings we enjoy improving our English skills and our maths skills in Maths Mastery. In the afternoon we explore a wider curriculum, some of our favourites include the Anglo-Saxons/Vikings and Ancient Egypt. Our Geography lessons link nicely to this as we begin to look at rivers, including the River Nile.
We really enjoy our outdoor learning sessions, which compliments our Science lessons where we’ve been discovering about different habitats, eco-systems and the effects of pollution.
In year 4, we take part in the national MTC (multiplication tables check), so practicing our times tables is a real priority! We like to channel our inner rockstars whilst playing TTRS and boogie with the super movers (https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers/times-table-collection/z4vv6v4)

Chelsea mascot Bridget the Lioness, has a song and movement routine to help students learn their 2 times table. Get your class on their feet and learning the 3 times table using Professor Pipette … www.bbc.co.uk |
Due to covid restrictions, we are unable to attend our usual swimming and Suffolk music service lessons, but we remain hopeful these may restart before the end of the year.
We know that this year there will be many challenges but with the right attitude and hard work, we know we can all achieve our goals.
Please send me a message via Class Dojo if you have any questions.
Hello and welcome to Larch Class!
I am the class teacher, Mrs Cook and our Learning Support Assistant is Ms Bullard.
In Year 4, we learn about a wide variety of subjects for example, we will build on our geographical knowledge of the world, learn about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings, study the exciting lives of the Ancient Egyptians, research famous artists and copy their styles and explore the human body, habitats and electricity to name but a few.
One of the highlights for Larch class is our fortnightly outdoor learning sessions where we get to explore the pond and wildlife area, build dens and get our feet wet!!
Alongside all of this, we of course further our Maths and English skills, improving our vocabulary, punctuation, and spelling and be the best we can with our times tables recall.
We know that Year 4 is an excellent year. There will be many challenges but with the right attitude and hard work, we know we can all achieve our goals.
If you have any questions please send us a message via class dojo. Thank you.
