About Our Humanities Curriculum

Key Stage 1

During Key Stage One, we offer a curriculum which is broad and balanced and which builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills of all children, whatever their starting points, as they progress through each Key Stage. The curriculum incorporates the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum 2014 and other experiences and opportunities which best meet the learning and developmental needs of the pupils in our school (see table below.) Our curriculum aims to inspire our pupils’ curiosity to know more about their world: past, present and future so that they understand the process of change, the diversity of societies as well as their own identity and the challenges of their time. We want all our pupils to have the requisite skills to be successful, independent and motivated learners in readiness for their next stage of education.

Key Stage 2

We want all our pupils to have the requisite skills to be successful, independent and motivated learners in readiness for their next stage of education.
