Welcome to Oak Class! Our teacher is Ms Leadbetter and our Learning Support Assistant is Ms Guyton. Our time in Reception has prepared us well for Year 1. We will continue to challenge ourselves, by reading exciting books to help us with our learning; practice and build on our phonics so that we can read and write more independently; and, continue to work hard on our number formation, number bonds to 20, addition and subtraction. By the end of the year, we aim to be able to write numbers in order to 100 and be able to count in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.
We are excited about our topic themes this year, which will involve us learning about the difference between the past and present, our local area of Sudbury, plants and animals. We will also learn about some significant historical people like Florence Nightgale and Thomas Gainsborough.
On top of all of this, we have some really exciting visits to look forward to which link directly to different areas of our curriculum. We will visit Thomas Gainborough’s house in Sudbury town centre and the Suffolk Wildlife Trust centre at Arger Fen.
Please feel free to come and talk if you ever have any questions, or you could get in touch via Class Dojo.
